CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 UPDATE

On March 20, 2020 U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin announced that the IRS will push back the Federal tax filing deadline to July 15, 2020.  Tax returns, or extensions, that are normally due April 15, 2020 will now be due on July 15, 2020.

This notice applies to Federal income tax returns only.  Many states, including Massachusetts, are in the process of issuing their own guidance.  At this time, the filing deadline for Massachusetts is April 15, 2020. We will continue to monitor this and keep you informed of any changes.

Effective Tuesday, March 24, 2020 the Governor has issued a stay at home order for all non-essential businesses.  In accordance with this order, our employees will begin to work remotely effective March 24, 2020 through April 7, 2020.  We are committed to continuing to provide you the same high level of service throughout these challenging times and will be processing tax returns while working remotely. Naomi will continue to answer the phones and be the primary point of contact.  Please copy her on all emails at Naomi@bcalcpa.com. We will contact you when your returns are complete. The health and welfare of our staff and clients is of utmost importance to our firm and we will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.

The IRS is continuing to process tax returns and issue refunds.  If you are due a refund, we urge you to either email, mail, or upload your information to our website so that we can prepare your returns.  We will prepare your tax returns as soon as possible and e-file them to get your refund for you.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call.

Sincerely,
Bob Calzini and Staff
